Open Headers is an open-source DevToolkit that lives where your traffic is: a browser extension with rules over live requests, a DevTools-grade network panel, a full API client, workflows, and an encrypted vault — plus a desktop companion and a self-hosted server for teams that want git-backed sync and shared workspaces without a cloud in the middle. Local-first by design: no account, no cloud relay, no telemetry from the server, and your data stays on your machines. Every feature is in the free tier; paid plans only add team seats.

Pick your surface

Browser extension

The full toolkit, standalone in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox — install from the store and create your first rule in minutes.

Desktop app

The tray-resident companion: dynamic value sources, git-backed workspace sync, and a local proxy. Pairs with the extension automatically.

Server

The self-hosted back-end tier — ohd on your machine, LAN, or VM. Same sync engine as the desktop app, headless.

MCP

Wire an AI agent into your workspaces over the Model Context Protocol — rules, requests, and workflows as tools.

Where things are

  • Server — the self-hosting book: install, first run, LAN vs TLS, tokens, users, backup, upgrades.
  • Reference — ohd and oh commands, configuration files, settings keys, ports, and exit codes.
  • API & MCP — the API reference and MCP tool reference.
  • Changelog — release history lives at openheaders.com/changelog.
